Conclusion

Marxist works are not all tragic or all rosy. They create a balance of life’s events. This is why they are believable. Marxist works mirror the society and expose the happenings in it.

Marxism is dramatized in Oyedepo’s The Rebellion of the Bumpy-chested and See through the themes of class struggle, rebellion and exploitation.

Marxism through literature exposes the causes of social problems and evils, and possible ways of solving these problems and evils. One cannot talk about literature without relating it to the society. This is seen in Stella ‘Dia Oyedepo’s The Rebellion of the Bumpy-chested and See which exposes class struggle, exploitation and rebellion in the society. Through various characters we are shown different reasons for class struggle, exploitation and rebellion. In See,Oyedepo makes us to understand that Marxist idea of class struggle is the continual conflict between the capitalist and working classes for economic and political power as she realistically portrays forms of class struggle such as economic deprivation, social inequality and injustice through her characters. Rebellion which is a call to revolution, geared towards a change in the way a country etc. is governed, usually to a different system and often using violence or war is evident in Oyedepo’s The Rebellion of the Bumpy-chested and See as we are told that no woman wants to be beaten or mistreated, especially by her husband. She either retaliates or defends herself as Falilat. Also, Oyedepo shows us how most people are exploited and how they react to exploitation in the society.
