ABSTRACT
The research work centers on class struggle and injustice as product of racism which is a universal theme as well as a menace which has given rise to class struggle, segregation and injustice as a result of the black nature of our skin in Angie Thomas’ The Hate U Give and Richard Wright’s Native Son. Making evident the similarities in both books as they tackle and reflect racism as a tree having its roots deeply rooted in the society and bearing fruits of class struggle and injustice. In a nutshell, this research work addresses racism in the American society and examines the characters mirroring this universal menace which has divided the human race into two (2) distinct colours; Black and White, with the latter lording over the former.
