Abstract

This essay aims at assessing the Classstratification, povertyandsocialinjustice in the light of subalterns’ mode of text analyzing in order to enlighten the relevance of class equality. The novels also reflect what urban life teaches and about new social organizations and the relationships between the rich and the poor. This long essay is based on analyzing the issues of class stratification, poverty, and social injustice in Festus Iyayi’s Violence and Tendai Huchu’s The Hairdresser of Harare. It is to educate and enlighten the African society about the need to stand up and fight against all forms of injustices. The study, therefore, concludes that unless class stratification is checked and reduced to the barest minimum, the issue of class stratification will continue to be a bane in our society.
