ABSTRACT
This study examined the Nigerian class conflict and political instability. The works of others were looked at in the literature review and conflict approach was used as the theoretical framework for analysis since it focuses on group struggle to maximize their benefits as a basis for exercising influence and control over others. The study draws materials from secondary information, gathered from different sources. These sources include advisory materials, journals, magazines, published materials, articles public lectures and online data. The research work looked at: the historical background of class and ethnic politics in Nigeria, class struggle, ethnic inequality and ethno-religious conflict in Nigeria’s Fourth republic, conflict of interest as cause of crisis, a dairy of communal clashes in Nigeria’s, forth republic, democracy and ethnic conflict, legitimacy crisis in Nigeria political system and finally it analysed class conflict and political instability in Nigeria fourth republic. The study finally gave useful recommendations and suggestions that will help in addressing the problems of class conflict that leads to political instability.
