ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research was to conduct an empirical investigation of the influence of claims settlement on the demand for insurance services in Nigeria, as well as the consequences of such results. It is suggested that the variables influencing changes in insurance company demand are powerful enough to influence total insurance firm performance in Nigeria. The correlation coefficient and the panel least squares (PLS) econometric approach were used to derive the dynamic features of the study. The empirical study findings reveal that claim settlement (CLS) has a considerable beneficial influence on the demand for insurance providers in Nigeria. Net Claim (NC) has an insignificant positive connection with the demand for insurance businesses in Nigeria, but Market Share (MS) has a large negative association with the demand for insurance firms in Nigeria. It was recommended that, because claim settlement (CLS) has a significant impact/effect on insurance firms' demand in Nigeria, insurance firm managers and policymakers in Nigeria develop appropriate policies to either sustain or increase the current level of claim settlement among clients in order to attract more patronage and penetrate the market.
