ABSTRACT

This project centers on the critical selection of an optimal charge controller for renewable energy systems, specifically targeting a 5kVA inverter system as the reference model. Charge controllers are essential components that regulate and optimize battery charging processes, ensuring efficient utilization of renewable energy sources like solar and wind power. The primary objective is to conduct an in-depth analysis of various charge controller types, with a particular emphasis on PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) and MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) controllers. By narrowing down the scope to charge controller selection, the project aims to evaluate factors such as efficiency, compatibility, scalability, and cost-effectiveness, aiming to identify the best-fit solution for the specified 5kVA inverter system. A 60A MPPT blue power smart charge controller was used, because of its efficiency and performance , optimizing charging. Additionally, it offers flexibility,and can accommodate more load in the future.
