ABSTRACT

The study looked at locus of control, resilience, and early trauma as potential predictors of deviant behavior among secondary school pupils in Edo State's Egor Local Government Area. In order to fulfill the study's objective, three research questions were posed and looked into. One hundred respondents made up the study's sample size. Frequency count and percentage are examples of descriptive statistics that were used in the analysis of the respondents' data. The 0.05 threshold of significance was applied for evaluating the hypotheses using inferential statistics. According to the study's findings, deviant behaviors among secondary school pupils in Edo State's Egor Local Government Area are significantly predicted by childhood trauma and resilience. It was determined that secondary school pupils in Edo State's Egor Local Government Area exhibit much more deviant behaviors when their locus of control is significantly higher. The government should provide instructors with training in trauma-informed teaching techniques and classroom management tactics that foster a supportive atmosphere for pupils who have experienced trauma, according to the study's recommendations.
