ABSTRACT
This study examined child labour and its effect on children attainment in Eyean community are of Edo State. The study’s instrument is questionnaire and the data collected were analyzed using SPSS software. The demographic characteristics about the respondensts are provided. The findings of the study depicts that child labour significantly reduces educational attainment of public and private school students in Eyean community area of Edo State. Based on the findings, it was recommended that necessary strategic programmes that educate parents and guardians about the consequences of their children's involvement in street dealing as well as the value of proper child rearing and supervision should be implemented. The study however concluded that many of the students who were caught skipping school were those who had been exposed to child labour. Their academic performance will suffer as a result, which might result in school abandonment.
