ABSTRACT
This study introduces the Chen-X family of distributions, a novel class of probability models that generalize several existing distributions. We derive the probability density function (pdf) and cumulative distribution function (cdf) of the Chen-X family of distributions. Furthermore, we propose the Chen Weibull distribution, a sub-model of the Chen-X family, which extends the traditional Weibull distribution. We obtain the pdf and cdf of the Chen Weibull distribution and discuss its properties. The maximum likelihood estimation method is used to estimate the model parameters. A simulation study is conducted to evaluate the performance of the estimators. The flexibility and applicability of the Chen Weibull distribution are demonstrated through real-world data applications. The results show that the proposed distributions provide better fits to the data compared to other existing distributions.
