SUMMARY

Demand for conventional feedstuffs will only increase as population grows and resources remain fixed. Research on alternate feed resources have been documented, but this study explored more of these resources including the chemical composition and invitro digestibility which can be considered useful measures for the determination and evaluation of the nutritive value of these unconventional feed resources. The dry matter digestibility of these feed resources were comparable to that of the control which shows the high level of nutrients that can be gotten from these feed resources by the ruminants. Also the methane gas production was low compared to that of control’s production. The low methane production means less nutrient was wasted thus making more nutrients available for ruminants to use. However the feed resources low metabolisable energy in relation to the control was not ideal.
