CHANGE IN POLITICAL ADMINISTRATION AND ITS IMPACT ON THE ECONOMY

ABSTRACT

This study examines change in political administration and its impact on the economy: A case study of former President Goodluck Jonathan and the present President Muhannadu Buhari’s Administration. This study adopted the survey design using a sample of two hundred and fifty (250) registered voters in Edo State. The data was analyse using percentage and chi-square to analyse the data sourced from the administration of questionnaires. The result shows that there is the significant relationship between change in political administration and economic development in Nigeria from 2010-2018. The result indicated that there is significant relationship between political administration and socioeconomic welfare of the Nigerian from 2010-2018. The result shows that there is significant relationship between political stability and the Nigerian economy from 2010- 2018. The study recommends that the government of Nigeria should as a matter of necessity, identify the root causes of unstable political environment and try to mitigate its effects so as to ensure sustained growth in Nigeria.
