ABSTRACT

This study looked into the issues surrounding young unemployment in the Edo State local government area of Oredo. In order to construct this project job, the study used a survey design for descriptive research. Ninety respondents, representing three settlements in the Oredo local government—Ihogbe, Abiala, and Ekehuan—made up the sample size. A simple percentage and frequency count were used to assess the gathered data. The survey found that young unemployment in Edo State's Oredo local government area is quite significant. It was determined that two of the main issues resulting from unemployment in the Oredo local government area of Edo State are the insecurity environment and stalled economic growth. In order to address the issue of youth unemployment, the report suggests that the government create policies that will aid in the effective monitoring of the annual unemployment rate. It was also suggested that the economy should be diversified away from the oil industry. Effective tapering and utilization should be done for other employment-driven sectors, such as agriculture, solid minerals, steel industries, railroads, etc.
