ABSTRACT
This work is a documentation of the directorial inputs to ensure that Bakare’s Drums of War is a relization on stage. The play teaches the audience the aftermath of war and the reasons why they should embrace peace at all time, the research method was qualitative in approach and participant oriented, The project is of five chapters, chapter one introduces the work. It explains the idea behind this work. That is the reasons and justification of this play. Chapter two deal with literature review. It accounts for everything concerning director and directing. Issues like the theories of directing are treated here. Also the directors functions, concept and approach are looked into. Chapter three focuses on play analysis, here everything concerning the play is explained in details, the authors biography, summary of the play, style genre, theme, setting, characters and social relevance were paid due attendance .Chapter for expounds the production process. The rationale behind choosing the play, audition, casting, lighting, set costume and make-up, budget, rehearsals, script reading, production design and budget were examined in detail. Chapter five is the conclusive part of this project; everything concerning the project is summarized, including the problem which the director encountered and recommendations.
