ABSTRACT This study looked into the obstacles that senior secondary schools in Ovia, North East Benin City have when trying to teach Christian Religious Studies (CRS). In order to choose 100 respondents from five public senior high schools in the Ovia-North Local Government Area, the study used a straightforward random selection technique. The study was led by four research topics, and a created questionnaire was used to collect data. Using a modified four-point Likert scale, the arithmetic mean of the responses served as the basis for data analysis. Responses equal to or greater than 2.5 were accepted, with a theoretical value of 2.5 serving as the acceptance threshold. The results showed a number of issues, such as the lack of interest that students had in CRS, ineffective teaching strategies, and a shortage of teaching resources. These results led to recommendations that emphasized the significance of encouraging students to become interested in CRS, offering the required teaching resources, and fostering a supportive learning environment. In order to improve their teaching abilities, teachers were also urged to embrace efficient teaching strategies and take advantage of possibilities for professional development. This study's conclusion emphasized how important it is to deal with issues in order to enhance CRS students' educational experience. It emphasized how crucial it is to maintain students' interest, improve teaching strategies, and make sure educational resources are available. To improve students' overall performance in CRS, the study also underlined the necessity of government supervision of instructional techniques and teacher training. Keywords: Students' attention, instructional material, academic performance, and effective learning.
