Summary
This chapter presents the summary of the study, conclusions and recommendations to the study based on the findings as well as solutions for further research.
The purpose of the study was to examine the causes and eradication of child abuse in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State.
To provide a guide to the study, five research questions were raised, these include;
i. What cultural factor contributes immensely to child abuse in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State?
ii. What is the role of education in the life of the abused child?
iii. How does the social aspect of life affect the abused child?
iv. What economic factors affect the abused child?
v. How can child abuse be eradicated in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State?
Literatures were reviewed in line with the subject matter for the study. The instrument used for data collection was the questionnaire. The instrument ‘titled “A study of the causes and eradication of child abuse questionnaire”. The constructed instrument was validated and tested for reliability. A total of one hundred respondents were used for this study. The respondents were adult male and female who were 18 years and above in four communities in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State through the use of the random sampling technique. The use of frequency count and simple percentage were the statistical tools employed to analyze the data collected. Based on the research, the following findings were observed.
