ABSTRACT
The study aimed to empirically examine the impact of career management on organizational performance among managers of the soft drink bottling industry. To guide the study, four research questions were raised, and one hypothesis was generated. The survey adopted a survey research design approach which sought to understand the impact of career management on organizational performance in a seven-up bottling company, Benin City, Edo state, Nigeria. The Taro Yamane (1976) sample determination formula was used to determine the sample size from the population, and after due computation, a sample of 133 respondents was arrived at. The study utilized a questionnaire as the research instrument to sample the opinions of the managers on the subject matter. A total of 133 questionnaires were distributed, however, only one hundred and seven were retrieved. The data collected were analyzed using frequency count, percentages, mean and standard deviation while linear regression was used to determine the impact career management has on organizational performance. Findings obtained from the analysis of the data indicated that career management has a strong and positive impact on organizational performance. Also, it was found that the organizational performance level in beverage companies is very high. Based on the findings, the study recommends amongst others that given the significant impact career management has on organizational performance, the organization continues to invest in and enhance its career management initiatives. This could involve developing comprehensive career development programs, providing regular training opportunities, and establishing clear pathways for employee growth within the organization.
