ABSTRACT
The effect of carbonization on the processing characteristics of rubber seed shell powder was studied. Rubber seed shells were carbonized at different temperatures and then pulverized into fine powder. The various powders obtained were then characterized by pH, bulk density, moisture content, iodine value, The results show that there was a significant change in the pH as the heating temperature increases. The bulk density and moisture content decrease with increasing heating temperature. Furthermore, The carbonization of the rubber seed shell and it preparedness for biodiesel synthesis was displayed with the values gotten from the proximate analysis and also the physicochemical properties possessed by the waste cooking oil. After critical analysis of the physicochemical properties of the waste cooking oil, the iodine value was 3.3, acid value was 121.2, kinematic viscosity was 38.9659cSt, density was 0.904, saponification value was 201.96 and the molecular weight was 849.25. Having carried out proximate analysis on the biochar. The ash content was 0.13, volatile matter was 9.2, moisture content was 4.7, Hemicellulose content was 12%, total carbon 21.7, lignin content and cellulose content are 15.2% and 72% respectively.
