ABSTRACT
Music is a great channel of communication, it helps in the expression of feelings, views and emotions. While most people around the world see music as a means of entertainment and relaxation, it’s also a means to promote appropriate social conditions, economic development, positive change in our society, human development, world peace and political and social activism.
Many musicians around the world have taken advantage of this medium of expression to bring to the notice of the general public some political and social issues plaguing our society with the aim to cause us to be aware and also expose the perpetrators of these unhealthy actions. Among many of these musicians is Burna Boy the self acclaimed African Giant has never failed to express his thoughts and feelings about certain unfavorable governmental policies. This study intends to look at some selected Burna Boy’s releases on social activism.
