ABSTRACT
The abundance relative occurrence of immature stage and preferred breeding site of Aedes aegypti was investigated between May and October, 2019 at Isihuan, Ediaken area of Benin City, using dipper. Five different container habitat; Coconut husk, Polythene bag, Tin, Discarded tyre and Plastic rubber were examined for larva and pupa weekly. Mean values revealed that discarded tyre (16.8 ±6.7) was the preferred breeding site while the most abundant immature was the 1st instar larva (14.8 ±8.9). The month of June (14.0%) produced the highest number of immature Aedes aegypt, discarded tyre (53.5%) harboring most of them.
