The study regressed the dependent variable – Return on Capital Employed on the Independent variables – Board age, Board gender, Board educational background, and Board ethnicity. A sample of thirty nine (39) listed manufacturing companies from the period of 2018– 2022 were examined using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and regression techniques were used to analyze the data in order to achieve the research objectives. Out of the four variables examined in the study, board age has a significant positive relationship with financial performance, the study also revealed that board gender has a marginal effect on financial performance, Board educational background has a non-significant impact on financial performance while board ethnicity has a significant negative impact on financial performance.
