ABSTRACT

Deep cycle batteries are a type of battery that can be repeatedly discharged down to low levels and recharged back to full capacity. They are commonly used in renewable energy systems, boats, RVs, and backup power systems. Deep cycle batteries are typically lead-acid batteries, but can also be made with other chemistries such as lithium-ion. There are three main types of lead-acid deep cycle batteries: flooded, sealed lead-acid (SLA), and absorbed glass mat (AGM). Flooded batteries require maintenance, while SLA and AGM batteries are sealed and require no maintenance but are more expensive. Based on the review and analysis, a 24V 65AH inverter was chosen to power the inverter as it had few requirements for maintenance and met the required specifications for the construction of our inverter.
