ABSTRACT

Efficient attendance monitoring during examinations plays a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of academic assessments. Traditional manual methods, including seating plans and rosters, have demonstrated limitations such as inefficiency and labor intensiveness. In response to these challenges, this project advocates for the adoption of automated attendance tracking mechanisms, including biometric systems, barcode solutions, and radio frequency identification. Within the scope of the University of Benin's Department of Computer Science, this project introduces an Online QR Code-Based Attendance System as a potential solution. However, the primary focus of this project pertains to the front-end implementation of this automated system. This entails enabling students to upload their course registration documents, obtain QR Code Slips, and utilize these slips for attendance registration. Employing an objectoriented approach to system analysis and design, the project utilizes various diagram types such as use case, class, and state machine diagrams to establish the system's architectural framework. This framework encompasses the entire attendance tracking process, including student verification and the generation of attendance records for all Computer Science courses.
