ABSTRACT
This study was designed to investigate the Awareness and Adoption of Library 3.0 Technologies in Academic Libraries. The descriptive survey research technique was adopted for the study and a well-structured questionnaire was used for data collection. 102 professional and paraprofessional staff at John Harris Library, University of Benin and Benson Idahosa University Library were used for this study. The purpose of the study was aimed at identifying the Awareness of Library 3.0 Technologies in Academic Libraries. Four research questions were raised for this study. A total of 102 copies of questionnaires were distributed to the respondents and 98 copies were retrieved and found to be usable, resulting in a 96% response rate. The questionnaires were analyzed using simple percentages. Findings from this study revealed that revealed that the level of librarians’ awareness of Library 3.0 technologies for providing Library and Information services is very high, Library 3.0 technologies available in Academic Libraries such as Web OPAC, Cloud computing and Artificial intelligence, there is a high level of adoption of Library 3.0 technologies in Academic libraries and challenges facing the adoption of Library 3.0 technologies in Academic libraries include insufficient funds, poor power supply, slow internet bandwidth and the complexity of the technology.
