ABSTRACT

This study assessed the availability and use of instructional materials in teaching of supporting tissues in plants among secondary schools. The study was carried out in Oredo local government area of Edo state. Three research questions guided the study. The design of the study was survey research design. A sample of thirty (30) teachers from fifteen (15) schools was used for the study. The instrument used was a questionnaire and a check list developed by the researcher. The questionnaire was validated by the researcher’s supervisor and two other lecturers in the department of curriculum and instructional technology.The data generated was interpreted using simple percentage statistical analysis. The findings for this research showed that instructional materials used in teaching supporting tissues in plants are made available and being utilized by teachers. Some useful recommendation was propounded to improve the availability and use of instructional materials in teaching of supporting tissues in plants
