ABSTRACT
This study investigated the availability of school facilities on the academic performance of senior secondary schools in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. The population of the study is made up of the twelve (12) public secondary schools in Egor Local Government Area with the total population of hundred and thirty-eight (407) senior secondary school students. Multi-stage sampling technique was used for the study. Four schools were selected out of the twelve (12) schools by convenient sampling technique and one hundred and nine (109) teachers were selected by convenient and simple random technique from each of the four schools.
A questionnaire named "School Facilities and Academic Performance of Senior Secondary Schools" (SFAPSSS) was used to collect information from the respondents. Frequency counts, tables, and simple percentage were used to analyze data generated from the study. It was discovered from the study that there was insufficient provision of school facilities in the public secondary schools in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. Based on this finding, government should endeavour to provide all these facilities so that students can perform better in examinations.
