AVAILABILITY AND UTILIZATION Of DIGITAL LIBRARY IN TEACHING AND LEARNING OF BUSINESS EDUCATION PROGRAM

ABSTRACT

This study assessed the availability and utilization of digital library in teaching and learning of Business Education programme in Universities in Edo State. Four research question were raised to guide the study. The study employed d a descriptive survey research design. The population for this study comprises of ninety five 400 level business education student from the three universities that offer business education program in Edo state which are University of Benin, Benin City , Ambrose Ali University Ekopma and Benson Idahosa University, Benin City. The sample of this study is a disproportionate stratified sampling. The instrument for data collection was a structured questionnaire and it was validated by the supervisor and two experts in the Department of Vocational and Technical Education, Cronbach alpha statistics was employed to measure the level of consistency of items to give a coefficient of 0.871 The finding generally showed the availability and utilization of digital library in teaching and learning of business education programs in universities in Edo state. The finding explains how digital library improve and develop the teaching and learning of business education program.The finding also explain what is hindering digital library like lack of funds, poor implementation, lack of trained librarians, lack of technological infrastructure. The study further gives the importance of digital library to students.
