ABSTRACT
This study investigated the availability and utilization of technology in the teaching and learning of English language in Senior Secondary Schools in Ovia North East local government area of Edo state. The design adopted for this study was the survey method and was guided by four research question. The population of the study consisted of 102 teachers from the thirteen (13) public secondary schools in Ovia North East local government area. The sample size for this study was a total number of twenty-six (26) English language teachers. A structured questionnaire was used to obtain data from respondents. Data collected from the survey was statistically analyzed. After analysis, results were displayed and analyzed using mean and standard deviation. The results revealed that there is basic technology available for the teaching and learning of English language in Secondary schools in Ovia North-East however, there is little or no utilisation of these technologies due to lack of applicable knowledge. It was therefore recommended that relevant authorities should provide adequate technological infrastructures and the required training for teachers in order to aid the teaching and learning of English language using the appropriate technologies.
