ABSTRACT
The increasing growth in computer automated processing has continued to aid data processing in the world of IT (Information Technology). In Nigeria, some small scale to medium scale business firms still make use of manual processing of data or information leading to poor management of resources. The focus of this project report is on automated payroll systems for small scale to medium scale business firms that distributes paychecks, processing of personnel information of employees etc. which covers the general overview of what a payroll system is all about, types of conventional payroll systems and solutions to eradicating the problem of manual data processing of some business firms in Nigeria.
