ABSTRACT
The conventional practice for taking students' attendance present today involves the manual use of attendance registers and roll calls. This method is used across educational institutions and workplaces, It involves the teacher calling out student names and in return, they answer “Present”, then their attendance is registered in the attendance register but if there is no response from the student, the attendance is registered as “Absent”. Over years of observation, it has been determined that this method of taking attendance has several limitations, for example, taking students' attendance eats away at lecture time, prone to human error, and is susceptible to fraud. This method also leads to trance among students. As such there is a need for an Automated Attendance System. This proposal introduces a modernized solution using QR code technology. By harnessing the power of QR code technology, this system offers a swift and precise alternative. This innovative approach enables seamless attendance tracking. Each student or participant is assigned a unique QR code, eliminating the need for time-consuming roll calls. Instructors or administrators can effortlessly record attendance with a simple scan, streamlining the process and reducing the likelihood of errors.
