ABSTRACT

The study appraises the audience perception of the role of radio in the protection of the role of radio in the protection of human right, using residents in Benin metropolis as a case study. It adopts a field survey using the instrument of the questionnaire for data collection. The findings however show that that the campaign mounted by the radio medium needs to create more awareness in other to eradicate human rights abuse in the Nigerian society. The study therefore recommends among other things that; radio station should engage more in human right messages most especially the news programmes, and more radio start should be created for this sole purpose of human right activities.
