ABSTRACT
These studies examine the Attitude of Pregnant Mothers towards Cervical Cancer Screening: A case study of Mothers Attending Antenatal Clinic Egor health center Benin City. The population of this study was all females that attend antenatal in Egor health center totaling 200. Using the simple random sampling technique 100 was selected for the study.
The instrument used for data collection was a self-structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics involving frequency counts and simple percentages were used to analyze the data obtained from the study Chi Square statistical analysis was used to test the hypotheses. The results show that the attitude of cervical cancer screening among the mothers attending antenatal was found to be very low, with only 10% that had ever been screened.
Recommendations were made including stepping up campaign for the control of cervical cancer and providing accessible cervical cancer screening services, among others.
