ABSTRACT
The study examined the Attitude of Employees towards the Utilization of Personal Protective Equipment (A Case Study of 7up Bottling Company Oluku, Benin City).
The study was a descriptive research which adopted the Survey research design. The population of the Study was estimated to be 400 including male and female workers. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling to select a sample size of 160 workers for the study. The questionnaire were validated by three experts, two in the department of Health Safety and Environmental Education and one from the department of Measurement and Evaluation, all in the University of Benin and Test retest method and a Pearson Product Moment Coefficient value of 0.90 was obtained ascertaining the reliability of the Instrument. Data collected was analyzed using Mean and Standard deviation.
The findings revealed that 7up bottling company workers have sufficient knowledge of the use of Personal protective equipment. From the findings of the researcher, it was revealed that 7up bottling company workers have a positive attitude towards the use of PPEs. The researcher highly recommend that there should be more workshops and training including routine inspection on the use of personal protective equipments by health and safety workers, Seminars and health talks should be organised for the workers to ensure that PPEs are provided with adequate health and safety education.
