Abstract
The research was carried out to examine the impact of the academic library resources on academic performance of undergraduate students of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Benin, Benin City Edo State Nigeria. To guide this research, five research questions were formulated. Relevant and extensive literature were reviewed in sub-titles. The literature surveyed and explored the works of scholars and researchers that are in line with the topic of this research. The descriptive survey method was adopted for the study. The population of the study consisted of 100 level to 500 level registered undergraduate students of Soil Science and Land Management (SLM), Faculty of Agriculture University of Benin. The researcher used the simple random technique in selecting one hundred and seventy (170) students from the population used for the study. The instrument adopted for the study was the questionnaire. Analysis was done using frequency, percentage and mean method.
The result of the study reveals that there are many resources held by John Harris library, most of the academic library resources are current and also relevant, academic library ensures active use of their resources by undergraduate students and also the use of academic library resources impact positively on student's academic performance. Base on the findings and conclusion drawn from the study, it was recommended that; there is need for digitalized library where by a student can access library resources anywhere anytime without going to the library physically, there is need for library to organize in-house training for library staff towards their attitude to every library user and more also government should increase budgetary allocation to tertiary institutions so as to boost the funding of library resources and it's effective management which will make the management provide needed library resources to users so as to help enhance academic performance of undergraduate students and other researchers.
