ABSTRACT
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia. There has been a continuous rise in its prevalence all over the world including African countries like Nigeria. Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency is of high prevalence globally and some reports have found it to be significantly associated with diabetes mellitus. This study was done among type 2 diabetic patients attending endocrinology unit in a tertiary health facility to assess their vitamin D levels and compare with non-diabetic control group. Data was collected from 70 volunteers each for both diabetic subjects and non-diabetic controls which included clinical history and clinical and anthropometric measurements.
