ABSTRACT
This study was carried out with main purpose of accessing the instructional resources for the teaching basic technology in junior secondary schools. The study also set out to determine the level of instructional resources for teaching of basic technology in public junior secondary schools, helps teachers handling basic technology to employ adequate instructional resources; identify the problems of effective utilization of instructional resources in teaching basic technology, proffer possible solutions to the problems militating against effective utilizations of instructional resources. The researcher carried out a literature view in the course of execution of the study in which the following were discussed; nature and scope of basic technology, importance of basic technology, types of instructional resources for teaching basic technology, level of availability of instructional resources for teaching basic technology, level of utilization of instructional resources in basic technology; problem against effective utilization of instructional resources in basic technology. The survey research design was used by the researcher in executing the study. The questionnaire was the instrument used for data collection, while simple percentage was collected for the study. Results from the study revealed that instructional resources available for teaching basic technology in public secondary schools were inadequate. The study also found that teachers were not making use of the available instructional resources in teaching basic technology. The study further revealed that there were a plethora of problems militating against the effective use of instructional resources in teaching basic technology in public secondary schools, and attempted to proffer solution to some of these problems
