ABSTRACT
Public policies are enunciated, from time to time, to solve problems confronting societies in order to improve on the wellbeing of the people; the skill acquisition policy is not an exception in this regard. To ensure public policies make necessary and positive impact on the target beneficiaries in particular and society in general, proper implementation must be guaranteed. This research work was focused on the impact of the skill acquisition policy on entrepreneurship in Edo state. Entrepreneurship is part and parcel of human capital in any society. It is the human capital that sustains and builds nations. Any policy that focuses on human capital development is well thought-out. In order to do a thorough work on the possible effect of the policy, the research was conducted within a time period of seven months. The three senatorial districts of Edo state were transverse by the researcher so as to reach out to the targeted sample size at the grassroots. These targeted sample size included the target beneficiaries of the policy of skill acquisition, entrepreneurs and trainers of skill acquisition, teachers and tutors of skill acquisition and teachers of vocational and technical colleges, trainees of skill acquisition and students of technical colleges, the employees of private organisations which specialized in training people on skill acquisition, and entrepreneurship.
