ABSTRACT
This is designed to make an Assessment of the effectiveness of waste management board by Residents in Oredo local government area of Edo state, The population of this research work comprises of all the 374,671 residents living in Oredo local government area of Edo state, A total number of (100) Respondents were used for this study. Twenty items of questions were used to elicit information. A total of 100 questionnaires were distributed and each contained 20 questions for the respondents.
The questionnaire was the main instrument for this research work. The researcher used the split half formula to determine the reliability of the instrument used. The instrument used for analyzing the data was the questionnaire. Data was analyzed using frequency counts and percentages. Based on the analysis of the data collected, the following conclusions were drawn concerning the research questions. This study shows that the rate of the effectiveness of waste management board is low. From this research, it shows that the perceptions of the respondents on the effectiveness of waste management board is not encouraging:
From the above findings and conclusions, the researcher recommends that A review should be made by the board by providing funds for purchasing enough vehicles and employing enough manpower, awareness should also be made available for rhe residents of Oredo local government area on public participation in cleaning of their sourrounring and environmental sanitation.
