ABSTRACT
Real estate has been recognized as the resource base for all forms of productive activities and it has become the bedrock for sound economic growth and stability. Due to real estate, so many job opportunities have been created. One of them being Estate surveyors and valuers. This profession today has risen to be a very high ranking and noble profession that carries out so many duties as it regards real estate. One very important jobs or role of a valuer is to carry out valuation on land and landed properties. This aspect of real estate is called valuation. As other aspect of life changes, so does technological development change and improve and also become a new trend in the society for almost all jobs and professions. This ranges from wide range internet, social media platforms, software technologies to ease work, e books e.t.c. This study is carried out in an attempt to show how technology has affected valuation in providing software applications that could help these professionals in their valuation practices. To find out the barriers and challenges of Estate surveyors and valuers in using these softwares and tackle them. Also to create proper awareness and enlightenment on how to use these softwares. The findings will shed more light on the advantages and features of several valuation software applications. This study will also be streamlining its target audience to Estate Surveyors and Valuers in Benin City, how well they use these softwares and their challenges as well as recommendations to tackle the problems to be identified.
