ABSTRACT
The purpose of the study was to assess the available apps and their use in teaching primary school pupils language in Oredo Local Government Area, Edo State. To investigate this, four (4) research questions were asked to guide the study, among these includes: Are language teachers aware of the available application? Do language teachers use the language teaching application? Are parents aware of the language teaching application? Do parents use the language teaching application for teaching their children?
The design used for this research was the descriptive survey. A sample of 50 language teachers and 50 parents from a population of 50 language teachers and 100 parents. The simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample. The questionnaire was the research instrument for this study. The mean and standard deviation was used in analyzing data gotten from the questionnaires.
The findings of this study show that language learning application are available while the level of awareness of language learning application is low and the extent language learning application are used at home is low and language teachers’ awareness of the language application is high while the extent these applications are used in a classroom setting is low. Based on this findings, it was concluded that language teachers are aware of language learning applications and that parent use of this application at home is low. Finally, the study recommended that;
