This study was designed to assess the availability of audio-visual resources in teaching biology education in the University of Benin. The researcher formulated four research questions. A descriptive survey research design was chosen as the methodology. A review of related literature was carried out.
A total of fifty (50) randomly selected biology education students from 300lvl and 400lvl in the faculty of education, University of Benin constituted the study sample. Questionnaire and checklist were used for the study. The data collected where analyzed using simple percentage. The study revealed types of audio-visual resources available for teaching biology education in the University of Benin, strategies that can be implemented to enhance the availability and accessibility of audio-visual resources.
The need of audio visuals in explaining complex concepts in a more understandable manner. Based on the findings, it is recommended that there should be an increase in investment in audio visual resources. Measures should be taken to ensure every student can access this audio-visual resources. The university should strengthen it's IT infrastructures.
