ABSTRACT
The study examined the, Assessment of Select Social Media Roles in the Rise of Incel Spaces among Youths in Nigeria, ascertained the various role social media plays in the growth of Incel spaces, by analyzing how youths become a part of the community amongst others. The researcher adopted the content analysis method as the research method to carry out the research. The study is hinged on various theories including the Social Identity Theory. The findings suggest that there is a growing incel community among young people in Nigeria, and that due to the nature of social media, incel spaces are able to freely grow. The researcher came to the conclusion that these growing spaces have an overarching effect on young Nigerians, and that they have a negative impact on societal attitudes towards women rights. The researcher recommended that better education, more research and proper enforcement of community guidelines, should be employed to curb the growth of Incel spaces in Nigeria.
