ABSTRACT

In this study, which used a descriptive survey research design, the researcher assessed the knowledge and attitudes of secondary school biology teachers in the Egor local government area about the assessment of biology learning. To direct the investigation, four research questions were developed. This research was conducted in Edo State. Using a straightforward random sample technique, 200 Senior Secondary Students were selected from four Secondary Schools in the Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. Cronbach Alpha was used to assess the instrument's internal consistency. Frequency counts and mean were used to examine the data collected, The outcome showed the knowledge and viewpoints of biology teachers towards the assessment of biology learning. As a result, the researchers suggested that secondary school teachers regularly attend seminars, conferences, and workshops to expose them to and help them develop the skills necessary to use in Evaluation. These conferences, workshops, and seminars should also include training sessions that will keep practicing teachers current on the various evaluation strategies. This will enable them to properly apply evaluation in schools and To assist the adoption of evaluation practices, computer usage should be promoted and computers should be made available in schools.
