Abstract
This study focuses on assessment of public relations strategies in the management of public opinion on governor Obaseki administration. The key objective of this study was to fund out the perception of the public on governor Obaseki administration. The theoretical framework of this study was anchored on Agenda setting theory and two step theories, the survey research design was used to get data for this research work, using the questionnaire instrument and a sample size of 400 respondents. The study was analysed in frequency tables and percentages. Findings reveal that public relations strategies are not effective in the management of public opinion on governor Obaseki administration so therefore the opinion of the public considered negative. Based on this study, the researcher therefore recommends that Public relations expertise should work hand in hand with the governors, governors should not just talk with special advisers but a public relations expert should also be consulted once in a while and the government has to be very sensitive in the promotion of mutual understanding between them and the public, must especially the public at the grassroots level.
