Summary
A little above half of the respondent were not satisfied with the postnatal care in the clinic and point of interest were long waiting time and long registration process, this is similar to a study done in Ibadan19. Prolonged waiting time and registration process will discourage mothers from attending the postnatal clinic and may lead to under-utilization of postnatal clinic in the facility this may also lead to higher of maternal mortality and neonatal mortality. Respondents who were employed were satisfied with the postnatal care received compare to those who were not employed. This was statistically significant and the reason for this could not be ascertained.
Majority of the respondent utilized the postnatal care services in the facility despite the high percentage of poor knowledge among the respondent. This may be because of the facility readiness and 24hours services rendered by the facility as seen in the assessment of the quality of postnatal care in this study. This is in contrast with the study done in Ethopia13 were majority of them did not utilize postnatal care services.
