ABSTRACT

Previous research has found that poor waste reception facilities and an absence of proper administration limit marine pollution control in developing countries. Private companies are contracted to provide ship-generated waste management services and waste reception facilities at Nigerian ports, and no activity audit is required. Apart from the port authorities, governmental agencies monitor and regulate pollution. As a result, obligations are repeated, and conflicts of interest may reduce regulation's effectiveness. As a result, an integrated model based on scientific principles is proposed to handle the managerial challenge generated by marine pollution control in Nigerian ports.

In this study, we conduct a physicochemical and microbiological examination of ship wastewater samples in order to estimate the extent of marine pollution in the port environment. Samples were collected from ships at seaport ports selected at random. The outcomes of the investigation are then used as inputs in an administrative framework model. The developed integrated model is proposed as an alternative administrative instrument for monitoring and regulating pollution in seaports
