ABSTRACT
Zoobenthosare valuable bio indicators in freshwater streams and rivers . Given its low cost and ease of collection, zoobenthos could be a potential tool for both long-term and community-based monitoring of freshwater bodies. The collected results showed that physicochemical properties were within WHO's allowable limits, with little variance between the sampled sites. The River's Zoobenthos diversity revealed a high distribution of numerous zoobenthos groups in the River. The water quality index indicates that the River water is unfit for drinking. Future research should focus on the effects of diverse anthropogenic activities on physicochemical parameters and zoobenthos abundance throughout time and space. This research provided baseline data on the physicochemical properties and species of zoobenthos in Emmadaja - Ekrota River
