This study assesses the level of particulate matter concentrations around Egor sawmill, Egor local government area, Edo state. The aim of this study is to assess spatial variations in particulate matter concentration around Egor sawmill; examine the seasonal pattern of particulate matter concentration around Egor sawmill; examine the perceived health effects of particulate matter Egor sawmill and determine the local coping measures and the solutions to particulate matter around Egor sawmill. In assessing the spatial variations of particulate matter, physical measurement of data was carried with the air quality gadgets to not only record the level of particulate matter but also the surrounding climatic variables. Mean values for PM2.5 ( 105.00) and PM10 (160.00) obtained at the closest sampling point were found to be more than values obtained at the established control point ( 30.51 and 54.40) for PM2.5 and PM10 respectively To get the perceived health effects of particulate matter and local coping measures, questionnaires were administered to respondents. It was discovered that there was a high number of individuals who had experienced saw-dust related illness. They were several suggestions made by respondents with relocation being postulated as the best solution by residents.
