ABSTRACT
People spend a large amount of time indoors, especially in educational settings. To ensure the health and well-being of building occupants, maintaining good indoor air quality (IAQ) is essential. This study sought to evaluate the indoor air quality in representative University of Benin buildings and provided useful information, such as identifying potential health risks related to indoor air quality within the university buildings, assessing whether the indoor air quality meets acceptable standards, and identifying specific pollutants that may be present.
The study made practical recommendations to enhance indoor air quality in university buildings based on its findings. These recommendations included implementing better ventilation strategies, reducing indoor air pollution sources, and recommending air filtration systems when needed. By offering insights into the current state of indoor air quality and suggesting specific actions for improvement, this project will help the University of Benin community enjoy a healthier and more productive learning environment.
