ABSTRACT
The present study investigates the groundwater quality of Evbuotubu Community, Benin City, Edo State to the WHO standard for drinking water. In the course of this project different groundwater samples were taken from boreholes located in the peripheral area of Evbuotubu Community which includes places such as Evbuotubu town hall, Evbuotubu market, Evbuotubu police station, Evbuotubu primary school, Evbuotubu secondary scool, Rima Bakery Factory, Benin City, Edo State. The samples where all given a Water Quality Index test which includes the pH, BOD, COD, DO, Temperature, Electrical conductivity, Total Suspended Solid as well as tests on heavy metals using the Atomic absorption spectrometer, The results show that the Water Quality index for the water samples are all OK for consumption according to the current standards set forth by WHO.
