ABSTRACT

The study was carried out to assess game based strategy in teaching and learning of mathematics in senior secondary schools. A case study of Udu local government area of Delta state. 3 research questions were raised to guide the study. The population of the study comprised of twelve thousand two hundred and ninety five (12,295) senior secondary school teacher in Udu local governments area of Delta state, while the sample for the study comprised two hundred and fifty three (253) teachers randomly selected from five (5) secondary schools .A structured questionnaires titled: Assessment of game based strategy in teaching and learning mathematics in senior secondary school was used for data collection. The questionnaire was validated by the researcher's supervisor as well as two other experts in the Department of Curriculum and Instructional Technology while the cronbach’s alpha reliability method was adopted to ascertain the reliability of the instrument. Data were analyzed with mean and standard deviation.

The study concluded that game based teaching and learning positively impact the teaching and learning process. Based on the findings of the study, the following recommendations were made for the study.
